Back once again! Nasty Jack never fails to deliver on the vibe, on the flows, or with creative variation. Coming with an OG style banger for all the ‘old skool Dons’, Jack’s got it all on lock, still. Releasing both the instrumental and the full track, Jack is a musician’s musician.
The production kicks of with a jarring synth, and a vocal sample, along with a heavy kick/snare pattern, then later another off-key synth comes in for the melody, but the instrument changes every so often to a softer horn synth. There are heavy bass stabs, and fully patterned rolling hihats which trail off, and Jack’s signature ad-libs throughout.
The bars are a journey back to OG patterns in style and delivery, with doubled up end bars, a driving, punchy flow and some next level energy, Jack spits every variation of the use of the word ‘Jack’ in the English language, including ‘You will get jacked by Jack’, ‘don’t know jack’ and ‘Come to the ends, got jack/left with nuttin but jack’ for the hook, which will have you randomly, and aggressively shouting it ever after.
In the main bars Jack shouts out man like Stormin and D Double, and makes loads of cultural references to old skool Dons like Van Persie, Tony Montano and Michael Jackson. He uses old skool patterns, e.g., one section, sees him ending each bar on ‘early’, and the verse on ‘everyting early’, and he also makes reference to voodoo and juju in his ability to ‘body’ his opps.
Always the Don, if you’re into real Grime, it’s history, it’s style, it’s full creative expression, Nasty Jack ‘J.A.C.K’ is the wave, cop it!
