Filthy Gears has fast become arguably grime's most consistent producers of late and you already know he's been sitting on these bangers for some time, as his catalog must be overflowing with the number of artists that have used his beats this year alone.
Following his debut self-titled album last year that featured a whole heap of Grime figures such as P Money, C Cane and Rocket, Filthy is back with what he does best on his latest project #4Play - straight up dark and weighty riddims.
Starting the project off with a bang is 'Magneto' and it's fair to say it hits you with full force after that iconic 'Filthy Gears' adlib. A spooky vibe is on this one, but that's just the start...
'Darker Place' comes through with a more stripped back bassline, focusing on the murky synths.
Next up is 'Filth X'. I've never heard a grime instrumental sound so scary. Be warned, this one's a wobbler.
Finally we hear the uplifting track of 'Scrub'. This one packs a punch along with the potent bass - a perfect way to round off what is yet another masterful release from one of grime's engine producers.
