Who said grime is dead? J Beatz is back with a fresh EP, alongside releases from Mode FM counterparts Spooky and Sir Pixalot.
The North London producer has very much played his part in the resurgence of grime with his unique and profoundly produced instrumentals, used by many MC's in the scene such as Capo Lee, Safone and GHSTYLY. The Mode FM's most popular releases are from his last EP 'Stinjan', but you can definitely see the progress through his catalog.
Now, he's back stronger than ever with four compelling riddims.
First up is Parallel - you've probably heard it on the radio before now. Wobbling bass is evident in this one and certainly sets the tone for the rest of the EP.
Sting then starts off with a blissful melodious sound, which is then switched up bringing thumping bass.
The penultimate track Bruk Out includes symphonious sounds throughout, with bassline seaping through the cracks.
The final track Ragga Muffin Revisit has carnival and Jamaican vibes in abundance, definitely a banger for the sun which shows the variable sound J Beatz can bring to the table.
You can listen to the four-track-EP on Spotify below and be sure to catch J Beatz on Mode every other Thursday 7-9pm when you can.
