Back when I was a yoot, I was petrified of Tempa T, not just because he's hench and could legit crush my head, but because he has one of the best flows in grime. Oh, and Temps is back with some fire, gifting us the video for 'Most High First.'
This guy is relentless, he's a monster, he parades about like a bull. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Tempa T has energy. When I think of the East London rapper, I think of pure aggression, we all know his song 'Next Hype' and how it is pivotal to the underground scene.
Temps hits this one with all of his force, and presents us with some very cryptic visuals. The camera keeps going to the maze that Tempa T is stuck in, I wouldn't like to be that maze, it's getting punched, chopped, and slapped into submission. Temps has enough room to swing his arms to the sky though, so everything is cool. The lyrics are very noticeable on this one, with him repeatedly saying ' I'm not giving up if things get worse.'
Tempa T is perhaps one of the most credible artists of the scene, he is a grime disciple, and it's so refreshing to see that he is back. 'Most High First' sounds like it could've been released in 2009, and that's what I love, it's that timeless Tempa T sound, he flexes his musical muscle everywhere he goes.
It's bait that nobody can ever replicate Tempa T's sound and vision. The guy really does have the highest amount of hype. I think Tempa T is at his best when he J Cole's, and what I mean by that is when Temps goes solo, we get to see the rawness of his flamboyant character and classic aggressive bars that just do so much for grime.
