Welcome to Grimeories! A brand new section for DeezEndz that brings you insight into the genre we all know and love back when it was still making its way up. The genre will prevalently feature album reviews of anything pre-2015, but that’s not to say that there won’t be other content. An extensive look into the pioneers of grime are something the section would love to bring to our audience.
There are many tales and little anecdotes that explain the come up of grime and what the early days were like - where underground radio stations were the only way people could get their fix. The digital age has helped grime to flourish and it’s down to the pioneers that have helped to get radio play. People like Tim Westwood and Charlie Sloth have helped to propel grime to an astonishing state of popularity; to the point where grime features late at night on the radio at least four days of the week here in the UK.
Not only that - the ASAP Mob and Drake have helped insanely with bringing the genre overseas; to the point where there’s foreign versions of grime that are making their own stamp in the genre every day. Grime is no longer a UK-exclusive form of music and there’s many, many memories associated with that.
So make sure to stick around, subscribe to the website if you’re new to DeezEndz. Meanwhile we’ll get to work on going through the timeline of grime for those who grew up when the genre was already making it’s way or simply those who remember the days of eskibeat and UK garage and simply want a walk through memory lane.
