Ahead of his new track “Right Now” featuring none other than Mez, we thought it was only right we caught up with man like SBK.
When did u first start Mcing/producing?
I started when I was 14 where I learned to make beats and write bars. I used to rap on American beats like Eminem’s tunes.
What can we expect for the remainder of 2019?
I’m just working on singles bro - I think a mixtape is due next year. Need to build up more hype I think.
How did you end up on Novelist’s Rinse FM set back in 2016 and can we expect a collaboration any time soon?
I just messaged him with one of my freestyles when I was like early 14 and he gave me some advice - after that, he invited me to rinse and what happened just happened.. that was my first ever set. Me and him have a couple of tunes pending!
What was it like being part of the Legendary grime platform Lord of the Mics/
It was definitely not expected so soon, but it’s been amazing, I’ve achieved a lot off of the back of it. I literally can’t buy the moments that I got from being a part of it.
Having produced many of your own tracks do you have any plans to produce for other artists?
I have been sending a few beats around, I’m quite a low-key producer though. It’s long to send beats out!
Who would you like to collaborate with?
I’m meant to be collaborating with Wiley but he’s a busy guy. Me and Jammer have made beats as well so it’s a matter of time. Also, I want a studio session with Shorty. Basically BBK…
Are there any young MC’s we should watch out for?
BK from Essex is cold.
Where do you hope to be in the next 5 years?
I want to make a full-time income from my record label, music career and clothing line. Everything is in due time.
